My Experiences with my Maxim
- This was my second motorcycle, bought for $600 as an extra toy in
December '97.
- The handling, cornering, and shocks of the bike are great considering
how old it is
- The power of this thing is incredible in the mid-range, I think it
ourperforms my Katana rpm vs rpm.
- Braking is a bit shaky in emergency situations.
- The Maxim is a tall bike with lots of ground clearance, but I get by
at 5'10". This makes the twisties all the more fun.
- Due to a cracked separator inside the exhaust, my XJ550 is very loud.
I don't mind at all, but the vibration the passenger feels is noticeable.
- All around this is a good fun bike especially for a beginner.
